Let’s break the ice

For the Love of Ice is an independent guided ice bath and breathwork studio located in downtown Walkerton, Ontario with a second location opening in Collingwood, ON Spring 2024.

One of the only studios of its kind in Ontario, soon to have a second location in Collingwood. The studio was founded in 2022 by Gillian Simpson, a certified and experienced Morozko Method Cold Immersion Guide, SHERPA Breath and Cold Coach and SHERPA Master Trainer.

Gillian offers breath work, deliberate cold exposure and contrast therapy (infrared sauna and ice bath) through private, couples or group sessions. This experience will take you through a unique and immediate form of healing within your body.

The practice has so many benefits including aiding in relief of anxiety and depression, weight loss, inflammation, mood enhancement, improvement in sleep, and more.

Meet the Ice Queen

Gillian Simpson, Founder & owner

The ice – this deliberate cold exposure practice – saved me. It pulled me out of postpartum depression and anxiety after two back-to-back pregnancies, and returned me to myself. It helped me throughout the dark days of the pandemic, during times of despair, fear and loss. It supported me as I recovered from a broken leg while working tirelessly to open the studio in 2021.

Now, this regular practice helps me more than I could imagine, because it brings me to who and what I was made to do: to help people heal. The cold and breath have brought so many beautiful people into my life, and together we’ve shed so much that wasn’t serving us.

I would have never imagined this is what I would be doing as my life’s work. Making my own schedule and having a career that allows room for flexibility and my family has always been important for me. I’ve made a life for myself that I’m proud of because I took chances and made leaps and bounds. I was born with the courage to push myself and take risks.

And I know you were too. You’re so strong. You can do hard things. For the Love of Ice is a safe space for you to work on yourself. With me as your cold exposure and breath guide, you can expect care, attention, love, support and encouragement. And trust that I’ll never leave you out in the cold.

“Gillian has created an amazing space for community to gather and be guided by her. She is so genuine and authentic at what she does, you can’t help but fall in love with the experience (and her)!” - Nicole Kelley
